Sno Biz® Business Heats Up At
Lebanon’s "Made In America" Show
Beirut, Lebanon Thousands in attendance from across the Middle East enjoyed the opportunity to sample the vibrant flavors of Sno Biz Shave Ice and other delicious Sno Biz Treats at the third annual "Made In America 2005" Trade Fair. The show, held in November in Beirut, promoted U.S. products and services in Lebanon and the region.
This was the second appearance for Crystal Fresh, Inc., the Minneapolis parent company of the Sno Biz brand.
"We had an excellent Show in 2004 and it was even better this year. The response to our products and Sno Biz business opportunities has been tremendous," said Tom Novetzke, a Crystal Fresh principal. "Because of the contacts we’ve made, we have recently appointed several new distributors, including locations in Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt and Cyprus. We’re also negotiating with other countries as we continue to expand the Sno Biz concept in the region. Carlo Chehab, our successful distributor in Lebanon and agent for the Middle East, has done an excellent job introducing the Sno Biz brand to others and his efforts are paying off."
The Sno Biz booth was a popular stop for "Made In America" visitors. Jeffrey Feltman, the American Ambassador to Lebanon, and Elizabeth Dibble, the Deputy Secretary of Near Eastern Affairs, were two of the dignitaries who stopped at the Sno Biz exhibit. They commented on the popularity of the Sno Biz exhibit and the delicious Sno Biz flavors. They stopped by the next day for another Sno Biz treat.
"With growing interest from U.S. companies in the Lebanese market, as well as the outstanding reputation of U.S. products as leaders in technology, I am confident ‘Made in America 2005’ will be an excellent opportunity for U.S. companies to develop new partnerships in Lebanon and the region," said Ambassador Feltman while addressing participating businesses. According to his office, demand for U.S. products and services in Lebanon has been increasing steadily over the past few years. U.S. Department of Commerce statistics show that U.S. exports to Lebanon grew by 47 percent in 2004, reaching $463 million.
Organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce and Department of State, the "Made In America" event was also supported by the American-Lebanese Chamber of Commerce. A similar event is slated for spring in Jordan and Sno Biz plans to be there.
